About
Carabao is a Filipino restaurant by Michelin-trained Chef Jade Cunningham, located in Napa Valley. Founded in partnership with Mathew Cunningham and the Amparo and Eric F. Gonzales Family Fund, Carabao celebrates the stories, resilience, and culinary traditions of the Filipino people.
Carabao comes from the national animal of the Philippines—a water buffalo known for its strength, perseverance, and deep connection to the Filipino identity. As a young girl growing up in Bulacan, Philippines, Chef Jade witnessed carabaos firsthand and grew up embodying their traits of perseverance, patience, and strength through her hardiness and impeccable work ethic. These same values are reflected in every detail of the Carabao experience.
Chef Jade brings a bold and heartfelt vision to life—blending the food she grew up with and the refined techniques of Michelin-star kitchens. Carabao is the first restaurant of its kind in Napa Valley:
a refined yet accessible space that invites guests to discover, savor, and celebrate Filipino cuisine.
